Brown’s experiences as a blonde attending Stanford Law School while obsessed with fashion and beauty, reading Elle magazine, and frequently clashing with the personalities of her peers inspired the basic plot of Legally Blonde.
Brown met producer Marc Platt in the year 2000, and he assisted her in developing her manuscript into a novel. Platt enlisted the help of veteran screenwriters McCullah Lutz and Smith to adapt the novel into a film.
When the project was brought to his attention, Luketic, an up-and-coming Australian director who made his way to Hollywood on the strength of his bizarre first short film, Titsiana Booberini, became interested.
“I had been reading screenplays for the previous two years, but I had not found anything that I felt I could put my own personal stamp on until Legally Blonde came along,” Luketic explained.
In Legally Blonde, Paulette Bonafonté plays the nail lady. Paulette, who is initially shy, quickly warms up to Elle and emerges from her shell, revealing a witty and outgoing personality.
Paulette prefers clothing that is well-fitting, stylish, and rather revealing.
She also wears a lot of makeup. Elle, like the majority of her friends, is always willing to lend a helping hand. In Legally Blonde, she was extremely concerned about her crush, a UPS guy named Kyle, becoming clumsy and at a loss for words around him.
